Services will be conducted from the LaMonica Memorial Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave. Livingston on Friday, February 7, at 8:30 am am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield at 10 am. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation is Thursday from 3-8 pm.
Homer was a carpenter with the Carpenters’ Union 1352 for over 40 years retiring in 1988. He was also a prolific contributor to the Op-Ed page of the NY Post.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII and spent 19 years with the Bloomfield Babe Ruth League where he served as President.
He was predeceased by his parents Ann and Frank Bucco, and siblings Frank, Josephine, Alice, Robert, Michael, and Rozmand.
He was the beloved wife of 59 years of Mildred (nee Averna), loving father of Brenda Loucka and her husband John, and Katherine Tomasso and her husband Dan, dear brother of Bernard Bucco and his wife Loretta, and Alba Smith, and brother in law of Genevieve and Florence Bucco, Florence and Joseph Mariani, Rosalie and Gus Louzeiro, Sandra Averna, and Edward Powers. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers contributions will be accepted to St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital.
