Billy Dean Cox, age 78, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. He was a member of Lakemoore Church of God. Billy was a 1954 graduate of Morristown High School and was active in the alumni group. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was an avid amateur radio operator using the call letters WA4FNY and was retired from Burroughs Corporation and Magnavox. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Cox of Morristown. Billy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Walker Cox; daughter, Deana (Kirk) Triemer of Atlanta GA; son, Col. James N. (Chrysta) Cox of Washington DC; grandchildren, Courtney Triemer (Jim) Darling, Garrett Cox, Lyndsey Cox, Ethan Cox; great-grandchildren, Molly Marie Darling; brother, Bud Cox of Morristown; and Billy’s nephew, Mark Cox who has been a special blessing to the family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, at 5:00 p.m. at Lakemoore Church of God. Rev. Robert Carpenter will officiate. The TN Army National Guard will render military honors following the funeral service. Graveside services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Graceland Memorial Park in Greenville, SC. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3 – 5:00 p.m. at the church prior to the services. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
