Jeff was born March 16, 1960 in Corpus Christi, TX and was the oldest of three siblings and the son of Arlington Hites Burch and Phyllis Diane Burch. He graduated from McAlester High in McAlester, Oklahoma in 1978. He worked for Bill & Gayle Miller at Miller’s Handy Stop where he soon became owner and operator. There was never a dull moment there; He always had something going on from Saturday afternoon card games to a Haunted House on Hallows Eve. He enjoyed the 4th of July where he sold firecrackers, live bait, and your basic lake necessities while wishing them all a “Good Luck” on their adventure and always returning with an “IT GOT AWAY” note. Jeff was currently working for the Odessa American where he truly will be missed. Jeff enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He loved planning out his next getaway adventure and spending his yearly visits in Ruidoso, NM, and Las Vegas with his family. Besides his love for travel, Jeff’s family was most important to him. He cared and gave his 100% to the needs of anyone in need. He loved animals and had a daily route feeding the homeless strays. He also enjoyed good food dining and was always envied at the table for picking out the best dish on the menu. Jeff’s love for life and others will be missed more than words can express.
He is survived by his parents Arlington Hites Burch (J.R.) and Phyllis Diane Burch; grandmother Dorothy Winters; sisters; Sandra Kay Hays, Darla Jean Sovil and husband Mike Sovil; He is also survived by nephews Jamason and Branson Hays, and niece Kimber Hays along with all the many friends that loved him.
