He was born February 10, 1928 in Palmer, a son of the late John S. and Mary Grabiak Pochron.
Mr. Pochron was a 1945 graduate of German Township High School and a 1949 graduate of Waynesburg College.
He served in the United States Air Force and retired from the Air Force Reserve as a Lt. Col.
Mr. Pochron was a retired school teacher with 35 years of service from the Jefferson-Morgan School District.
He was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Parish, the Greene County Retired Teachers Association, the Pennsylvania State Education Association, the National Education Association, the AARP, the Adah Gun Club and the American Legion Post #816, Rices Landing.
On June 21, 1958 he married Vivian Lee Black, who survives.
Also surviving is a brother, James “JC” Pochron and his wife Ruth of Frederick, MD; two nephews, John Pochron and his wife Karen of Dry Tavern and Mark Pochron and his wife Lori of Rices Landing, and several other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, John W. Pochron Sr.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the Behm Funeral Homes, Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where a blessing service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Rices Landing, with Fr. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Consolation Parish, Sacred Heart Church, Rices Landing, PA.
