She was born April 16, 1931 in East St. Louis, IL the daughter of Joseph and Viola Gain.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 60 years, Frank Muckey and her son Alan Muckey.
Betty was an avid bridge player and a prolific artist, painting with oils, acrylics and watercolors on canvas, paper, glass, wood, plaster molds, porcelain and fabrics. Cooking and baking was also one of her favorite things to do, and still experimenting with new recipes at the age of 81. She was a member of Kentuckiana Decorative Artists and Kosair Ladies Oriental Club.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Carla Crush (Jim); her sister, Virginia Wargo (George); two grandsons, Tony Crush and Michael Crush (Blair); one granddaughter, Lisa Hawkins (Steve) and three great-grandchildren.
A brief remembrance service will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Cave Hill Cemetery.
