A graveside service to celebrate Marilynn’s Life will be held Friday, March 7, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Chaplin Dan McMinn officiating according to Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the St. Elmo room at the funeral home.
The family will also host a reception with refreshments to Celebrate Marilynn’s Life following the service at the Cataula VFW, Post 10558, on US HWY 27 in Cataula, GA, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Marilynn was born March 15, 1940 in Pulaksi, TN, daughter of the late Edward and Hortence Glover Neely. She was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a life member of the LAVFW, 10558. Her presence will be missed daily, but her memory will live forever in our hearts.
In addition to her parents, Marilynn was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronny and Ed Neely, and her step son, Bobby Beitel.
Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, Robert A. Beitel, one step-daughter, Linda Walls and her husband, Steve of Madison, AL, daughter-in-law, Remona of Zebulon, NC, three grandchildren, Tonya Landes and her husband, Jeremy of Frankfort, IN, Stephen Walls of Madison, AL, Amanda Collins and her husband, Russ of Bunn, NC, six great grandchildren, three sisters, Joan Walls and her husband, Steve of Pulaski, TN, Vicki Ridge and her husband, Tim of High Point, NC, Karen Smith of Pulaski, TN, one brother, Dennis, Neely and his wife, Chris of Pulaski, TN, sister-in-law Jeanne Beitel Wessner and her husband, Bernie of St. Petersburg, FL, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
