Dorothy Ennis Few, wife of the late Eugene Cannon Few Jr., 88 died Friday, March 21, 2014.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at Friend’s Home West. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., prior to the memorial service, at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Few was born July 23, 1925 in Wilmington to the late Bertis Deleon Ennis and Phoebe Louise Gurley Ennis. She had lived in Greensboro since 1941 and presently resided at Friends Homes, West, Assisted Living, 6100 W Friendly Avenue.
She graduated from U.N.C.G with a B.A. Degree in Psychology. She was a charter member of the Christ United Methodist Church, where she had served as Circle Chairman, teacher, member of the Board of Stewards, and member of the Building Committee.
She had worked for the “Advisement and Guidance” section of the Veterans Administration after WWII, Jefferson-Pilot Insurance Company, Moses Cone Memorial Hospital and 14 years for U.N.C. Greensboro. She was an associate member of the O. Henry Study Club.
Mrs. Few was preceded in death by her sister Phoebe Kimrey.
She is survived by nephews David Ennis Kimrey and Willis Holt Kimrey, Jr, niece, Joie Kimrey Black; and several nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great- nephews.
