Earl Was a Korean War veteran. Serving in The United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He returned home and became a Police officer for The Rialto Police Department in 1958. Serving as a Patrolman and Detective then retired as a sergeant in 1988. He was a cancer survivor, after being diagnosed at age 50. He was active in Inland Empire Sports for youth serving as an umpire and with Art Clagg, Opened a School for Umpires for Boys and Girls baseball, So youth would have qualified officials. He was happiest when helping turn kids on the border back to the straight and narrow. I know that many kids in Rialto knew him and respected him. He bowled for many years with the Police Olympics and Charity Tournaments and won lots medals and trophies. He was active in American Legion, Rialto Exchange Club.
He leaves behind his devoted Dogs, and Parrot Tobie. His son John (Michelle) in Montana and a daughter Diane (John) in CA. His sisters Betty, Patty and Peggy as well as a brother Richard. First wife Carol; his special nephew Vincent (Summer; Kalah, Sandra, Kristen, Rachel, Heather, Seth), “daughters” Deb (Sam) & Denise (Mark; Shannen, Stephanie), Step-Son Chris (Donna; Jessica, Joanna, Janell, Joshua, Jamie), Ryan and many close friends.
