The son of the late Cecil and Mildred Ross, he was born June 10, 1945 in Thomasville, Georgia. During his childhood his family moved to Panacea where he was raised. Johnny joined the U.S. Army and served his Country honorably as a Vietnam Veteran. He worked in construction after leaving the military. He became a building inspector for Wakulla County and eventually retired as the Wakulla County building official.
He is survived and loved by his wife of 47 years, Ann Cochran Ross; daughters: Renea Delong (Mitch), Karey Edwards (John); three grandchildren; Hayden, Hunter and Jon Garrett; brothers: Wilton A. Ross, Cecil A. Ross Jr., Steve Ross and Bobby Ross.
Johnny enjoyed fishing, gardening, being outdoors and talking to anyone he crossed paths with.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Ross, and mother, Mildred Roberts.
The celebration of his life will be held at Culley's MeadowWood Riggins Road Chapel on Wednesday, April 2nd at 3:00.
