Ohatchee – Funeral services for Mr. Timothy D. Leahey 44, of Ohatchee, will be at 2 pm, Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Green officiating. The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Leahey passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Leahey is survived by his wife, Jennifer Faulkner Leahey, parents, Kenneth and Brenda Leahey and, Ruth Thomas, sister, Angie (Jimmy) Fisher, sisters-in-law, Laura (Rob) Turgeon and Debbie (Jason) Vice, grandmother, Mary June Thomas, niece, Ashley (Noah) McCulley, nephews, Brandon Dodgen and Dalton Fisher, great-nieces, Madison and Eliot McCulley, special brothers, Byron (Leslie) McPherson and Ellis Hammonds, fur babies, Dusty and Shelby, several cousins, aunts, uncles and special uncle Ronnie (Sherry) Harkins. Pallbearers will be Rick Jones, Eric Mangum, Randy Sloan, Jerry Martin, Josh Graham, Steven Watwood, Zack Bragg and Johnny Douthit. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Williams, Pete Fulmer, Don Biggs, Greg Swafford and Danny Knightly.
Mr. Leahey is preceded in death by his step-dad, Dexter Thomas, grandparents, Garvin and Roberta Green, and Tom and Velma Taliferro.
Tim lived in Ohatchee all of his life. He attended Alexandria High School till 1988. He was employed by Vulcan Materials for three years, and then later worked with the family business, KDL Trucking Inc. until present. Tim enjoyed riding his Harley, hunting, rock crawling, hanging out in the shop with his friends, anything outdoors and spending time with family and his fur babies Dusty and Shelby. He was such a loving person with a soft tender heart that loved life. Tim was loved by many. He will be missed by so many people whose lives he touched. The family requests no flowers.
