Virginia was born in Woodlake, California on October 28, 1923 to Hugo J. Galle and Lena W. Fast Galle. She was raised and educated in Woodlake, graduating from Woodlake High School. She attended College of Sequoias. On April 25, 1947 Virginia married Billy Carl Brown in Woodlake, California at the Woodlake Presbyterian Church. They celebrated 43 years of marriage. Billy and Virginia made their first home in Three Rivers, California and then moved to Clovis, California until 1979 when they returned to Three Rivers to enjoy their retirement years. Virginia was a faithful member of the Three Rivers Presbyterian Church and served several years as a Deacon. Virginia loved to garden when she could, go camping with her family, crocheting and playing her organ - doing all the things that a mother loves to do. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy on June 2, 1990; her parents, Hugo and Lena and Lucille McClure, her sister.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Connie Gilmore and husband, Doug of Sanger, CA, two sons, Mike Brown and wife, Hazel of Terra Bella, CA and Les Brown and wife, Terry of Sanger, CA; one sister, Marion St. Martin of Port Townsend, WA; six grandchildren, Steven Carleton, Daniel Brown, Carley Brown, Sandra Zendner, Michael Brawley and Stan Brawley; four great grandchildren, Kenneth, Jeffrey, Elizabeth and Blake.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Woodlake Cemetery, 165 North Cypress in Woodlake, CA.
