Annie Mae Whaley Baggett, 88 of Richlands, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Born in Duplin County on December 18, 1925, Annie was a long time resident of Onslow County. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Annie faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking/baking from scratch, sewing and crafting. Of all of her accomplishments, Annie’s greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family and friends. She had a unique gift to recognize and appreciate the talents in others and make them feel loved and lifted by her presence. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun, family and friends, including an attitude that there was always room for one more, She leaves all her children and grandchildren with the knowledge that they were truly loved and they know that she loved the Lord.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents Leon James Whaley and Retha Francis Holmes Williams, Her loving husband of 46 years Julius March (Tobie) Baggett , son James Gordon Baggett, Daughter Nancy Baggett Taylor, Daughter Patricia Jean Baggett, Grand Daughter Victoria Lexus Taylor. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 6-8pm at Johnson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Rev. Fred Tapper will preside at Annie’s funeral on Wednesday April 16, 2014 at 12:30pm at Johnson Funeral Home, with burial following at the Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery.
