Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Thursday, April 17, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Kelley as celebrant. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16 from 6-8pm at Adams Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7pm.
Mrs. Slafka was born April 23, 1931 in Bremond, Texas to parents Anton and Julia Krysinski. She graduated from Waco High School in 1949. In 1950, she married Ike G. Slafka. They lived in Marlin, Louisville, Kentucky, Waco, and eventually back in Marlin. Dolores worked at the VA Hospital in Marlin in Medical Administration Services. She retired in 1993. Dolores loved polka music and she and Ike would often go dancing. She enjoyed playing dominoes, too, but her greatest joy was working in her yard. She adored her family and was very devoted to them. Her proudest moments were when her children were born. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchild dearly. Dolores was also a devout Catholic and was very active in the church. She was a member of the PCCW at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ike; and 2 brothers, Paul and Don Krysinski; and an infant son, Timothy.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Mark Slafka of New Braunfels and Karen Ford of Spring; grandchildren, Derek Slafka and wife Amber, Haley Ford and Emily Ford; and great-granddaughter Lauren Taylor Slafka.
