He was born in Iowa City, Iowa and was raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He graduated from Trident Technical College and retired from Cherry Point Marine Air Station in 2011. He was a member of James Island Masonic Lodge No. 396 AMF.
He is survived by his wife June A. Thomas, his parents, Paul F. Thomas of Nevada; and Cecelia Baerwolf of Maryland; three daughters, Jennifer Villaneuva of Jacksonville; Johnnie Antonette Margiotta of Charleston, SC; Marian Margiotta Frazier of Flat Rock, NC; one brother, Michael Thomas of Alaska; two sisters, Theresa Mercer of Maryland; Linda Ecker of Delaware; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Cotten Funeral Home.
