Ed was born September 7, 1942 in Canton, Ohio. He was employed at Danner Press for more than 40 years, and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and playing golf. Ed was a fan of the Hoover Vikings, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Smethers. He is survived by his wife, Joan Cox; daughters, Renee (Frank) Pellegrini of Canton, Tina (Brent Woodside) Campian of North Canton, and Chantel (Jeff) Schleappi of Canton; nine grandchildren, Sean, Bryan, Erin, Marissa, Megan, Morgan, Maria, Emily, and Anna; three great grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Robb of North Carolina, Patty (David) Ickes of Louisville, OH, and Cindy Oyler of North Carolina; brothers, Bobby Oyler of Louisville, OH, Leonard (Darlene) Oyler of Canton, and Chuck (Debbie) Oyler of West Virginia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Newcomer officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
