“Beloved Husband, Father, & Grandfather”
Isaac Dumas the son of the late Winnie Jones Mobley of Waynesville, NC and Price Dumas of Arcola, MS died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Oteen, NC. He is survived by his wife Johnnie Ruth Jackson Dumas. He is also survived by his children, Alissa Gayle Dumas, Isaac Leander Dumas, and Tyree Lynea Dumas all of Waynesville. He has three sisters, Bertha Morris of Arcola, MS, Lillie Bell Simmons and Lillie Ann Forney both of Arden, NC, a brother, Alfred (Edith) Caldwell of Waynesville, NC,
four grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was employed at Pitts Towing of Waynesville. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a UH-1 Helicopter Repairman. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam service Medal, W/2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/1960 Device, 2 O/S Bars, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-16) & the Army Commendation Medal. He was a Master Mason at Dutch Lodge 718. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Burial will be held privately by family.
Garrett Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
