Adolfo L. Marks age 80, native of Brownsville, was born on December 14, 1933 to Enrique and Carmen Marks. He went to be with His Lord and Savior on Monday, May 05, 2014. Adolfo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Adolfo will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him but never forgotten.
Adolfo was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and was Honorably Discharged; he worked at Gonzalez Elementary for many years until he retired. He had a great work ethic and was greatly respected and admired. He was a pillar and an Elder at New Hope Alliance Church for many years. His faith in God was unmeasurable. Above all he loved God first and foremost. Adolfo devoted his life to serving God and was a great example of unselfish sacrifice to His Savior. His faith and Christian walk with the Lord and his unwavering love for God were an example to his children and grandchildren. He also loved his wife and family deeply and was an example to all his children and grandchildren.
Adolfo is preceded in death by his parents Enrique and Carmen Marks.
Adolfo is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Olivia; his three sons, Adolfo Marks Jr. (Viola), Daniel Marks (Terry), Alexander Marks (Jennifer); and five daughters, Mary Elizabeth Hine (Mark), Olivia Atkinson (Rene), Patricia Marks-Sund (Daniel), Gabriela Marks-Cisneros (Ramon), and Veronica Marks-Guerra (Rogelio). He is also survived by his brother Enrique Marks and sisters Ofelia Galicia and Maria Diaz. He will be greatly missed by his 23 grandchildren Mary Ruth Hine, Glenn Douglas Hine, Melissa Cortinas (Jose), Rebecca Lynn Marks, Benjamin Joseph Marks, Michael William Marks, Debbie Atkinson, Steve Atkinson (Judy), Vivianne Jean Atkinson, Christian Renee Atkinson, Monique Liane Corbeil , Jonathan Daniel Marks, Joshua James Marks, Timothy Ray Cisneros, John Mark Cisneros, Matthew Alec Cisneros, Jacob Andrew Cisneros, Jeremy Andrew Marks, Samantha Isabella Marks, Jonathan Dominique Marks, Rogelio Angel Guerra, Guilyanna Nataly Guerra, Rodolfo Levi Guerra. He also is survived by three great grandchildren, Cole Aden Gunnison, Carter Darby Gunnison, Alexandro Cortinas.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 from 12:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Prayer Service to be conducted at 7:00p.m. at New Hope Alliance Church.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:00a.m. at New Hope Alliance Church followed by committal service at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Benjamin Joseph Marks, Esteban Atkinson, Jonathan Daniel Marks, Jonathan Dominique Marks, Timothy Ray Cisneros, and Joshua James Marks.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Andrew Marks, Jacob Andrew Cisneros, Glenn Douglas Hine, Rogelio Angel Guerra, and Rodolfo Levi Guerra.
