Edward W. Struchen, 91, was born December 12, 1922 in Girard, Pa. and entered his heavenly home on May 7, 2014 Edd was a decorated veteran, having been awarded the American Theatre Service Medical, Good Conduct Medal, EAME Theatre Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, Victory Medal, and the Purple Heart and served in WWII and the Korean War. Edd was with the 16th Calvary and the 82nd Airborne Division. For several years Edd drove a semi-truck with US Mail, and sorted mail for the Erie post office before moving his family to Florida. Edd retired as a machinist of 22 years before becoming a trip driver with Avis for 17 years. Edd was an avid bowler and golfer, as well as being a great bingo player.
Edd was preceded in death by his wife Martha of 47 years. A daughter Dee Stone, and, several other loved one's. Edd is survived by children John Struchen of Georgia, Linda (Larry) Owens of Tennessee and his Lil girl Renee' (Bill) Allgeo, 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grand-children, and, 3 great-great-grandchildren, with 3 on the way.
