RISSER, Eileen G., age 89, of Ann Arbor, formerly of Kettering, OH, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Arbor Hospice in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She graduated from Kiser High School in 1942 where she was a member of the National Honor Society and then attended Sinclair Community College in Dayton, OH. Eileen began her career as an administrative school secretary in the Dayton Public Schools. Over her career she served several school principals including principals at Patterson, Emerson, Kaiser and Eastmont schools.She retired from the Dayton Public Schools in 1986 after 30 years. Eileen was a member of the National Honor Society, Delta Xi Sorority, the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, VFW Post 9927, and the American Legion Post 598.
Eileen is survived by her two sons, Daniel Thomas (Linda) Risser of Arvada, CO and Robin Frank (Sally) Risser of Ann Arbor, MI; three grandchildren, Tara (Steve) Ulm, Douglas (Michelle) Risser and Logan Risser; and three great-grandchildren, Hayden and Chase Ulm and Lyra Risser. She is also survived by her three nephews, Fred (Chris) Engelhardt, Bill (Gigi) Engelhardt, and Tom (Su) Hagerty. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Thomas Risser; her parents, Frank and Mary Hull; her sisters, Ruth Hagerty and Doris Engelhardt; niece, Patricia Hagerty; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Risser.
Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering with service conducted by the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #9927 at 7:15 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6 at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 N.
