Mr. Shurlin “Bill” Hunley, 89, of Marietta, GA passed away June 8, 2014. He was born to the late Amos and Ethel Hunley on August 8, 1924 in Carryton, TN. After high school, Bill joined the United States Army. He served honorably during World War II and suffered a combat injury in Japan. After his service, Bill enjoyed working as a supervisor for Lockheed until his retirement. Bill was loved by all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend. He loved going on family camping trips, fishing and listening to country, gospel and bluegrass. He was also a gold circle member of the VFW. Bill whole heartedly supported the Wounded Warrior Project. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle Hunley, daughter, Donna Hunley, brothers, Bruce Walton, Ira, Ray and Hubert Hunley and sister, Jo. Bill leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Billy and June Parks and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11:00am in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 6-9pm.
