Carrol N. Edgell, 93, peacefully went to heaven on the morning of June 8, 2014 and heaven is a better place for her being there. She will be missed by everyone who knew her, because everyone she met was her friend.
She was born in Liberal, Kansas in 1921 and survived the dust bowl in Cheyenne, Oklahoma where she grew up. During World War II, she was trained as a registered nurse at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas as part of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. She was proud to be a nurse and worked in physician's offices in Midland before she retired.
In 1948, she met and married Wendell R. Edgell and they were married for sixty-five years. Their love created two sons, Richard and David. She cared for her husband and sons and always made a loving home through all the ups and downs of the oil industry. She and her husband lived in the same home in Midland for 38 years.
Her husband Wendell and her two sons, Richard and David Edgell, survive her. She is also survived by her brother C.V. Rice of Overland Park, KS.
Her faith in Christ was strong and permeated every part of her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Midland.
Funeral services will be held at First Methodist Church in the Glass Chapel on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 11:00 am with Dr. Tim Walker officiating. Burial at Fairview Cemetery will precede the funeral service.
