Phillip Henry Rhue, 83, of Memphis passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. He was born March 31, 1931 in Memphis to the late Richard & Rose Rhue. Mr. Rhue was a retired district chief with Memphis Fire Department, charter member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, 32nd degree Mason and was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Louise Perkins; brother, Jack O. Rhue; and is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, JoAnn K. Rhue; son, Phillip Eric Rhue of Memphis; nephews, Edward R. Perkins (Jan), Shannon Rhue (Pam); niece Leigh Ann Stough (David); numerous great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 6050 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN with the interment to follow at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh LaGrange Rd., Memphis, TN. The family requests that memorials be sent to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
