Paul Ellison was born in Montgomery, Alabama to John and Gertrude Ellison on June 24, 1930 and passed away in Roseville, California on June 14, 2014. Paul was a proud Navy veteran who served in the Korean War and in Japan. He retired from the County of San Mateo and was a member of both the American Legion and the Lions Club. He loved traveling, dining out and the company of his family, friends and his dog “Pup.” Living in El Dorado County were the best twelve years of Paul’s life.
Paul is survived and greatly missed by son Steven P. Ellison and his wife Kathleen P. Ellison; granddaughters Stephanie and Stacy; great grandchildren Michael, Katelyn and Joseph Russel; step daughter Cheryl Anne Thompson; step son Tim Lawerance; step granddaughters Ninnete and Rochelle; and step great grandchild Ash. Paul is also survived by sisters Sara and Betty; nephews John Henry Jr. and Ross; and nieces Kay and Joanne. Paul will be especially missed by his longtime loving companion Mary Geneva Thompson of Placerville.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11:00 am (visitation 10 – 11), at Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Road, Placerville, CA 95667. Interment will follow at Westwood Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Paul’s name to The Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758517 Topeka, KS 66675.
