He shared his life with his wife, Kathleen Derringer Ryersen, for almost twenty-seven years. They have two wonderful sons, Ryan and Cody. Gordon is also survived by his sister Susan Cuciti and her husband Paul of Stockholm, NJ and their two daughters, Christine and Julianne. He will be dearly missed by his father-in-law, William Derringer of Ringwood, NJ; sister-in-law, Kerry Derringer and Arthur Cashin of Morristown, NJ with their two sons David and Daniel; Colleen Derringer and Joseph DeLany of Chester, NJ along with their two sons Finnegan and Jameson.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from The City College of New York and Master of Arts degree from Montclair State University. Gordon has spent over thirty years teaching Technical Education at Wayne Hills High School, where he loved going to work each and every day. In addition to his teaching career, Gordon and his wife owned and operated a professional photography business for over 15 years.
Gordon was a loving and devoted husband, loyal friend and proud father. He was proud of his Norwegian heritage and enjoyed researching family genealogy. Gordon was also passionate about music and photography and he instilled this love of music in his children. He cherished his family above all else.
Friends and relatives are welcome to visit at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Sparta, NJ on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. A 10:30 am funeral liturgy will be held Friday at St. Kateri R.C. Church, 427 Stanhope Road, Sparta, NJ 07871. Burial will take place immediately following at Sparta Cemetery.
