David S. Anderson, born March 15, 1958, in Lansing, Michigan, to Richard J. and Elaine M. Anderson, passed away at age 56 on June 18, 2014, in Bishop, Texas, with his wife, Yvonne, and sons, Sean and Adam, at his bedside.
David is survived by his wife, Yvonne; sons, Sean and Adam; mother, Elaine M. Anderson; father, Richard J. Anderson; and brother, Mark A. Anderson.
David graduated from Waverly High School in 1976 and graduated with a B.S. in Geology in 1980 from Grand Valley State University.
David then embarked on a career in the energy field as an engineer. He lived in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Arizona, and Hong Kong, working as a field engineer and consultant. He traveled the world, visited many countries, and saw many wonders of the world.
David was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists since 1980 and the Society of Petroleum Engineers among others.
David was also a collector of memorabilia and baseball cards. He greatly enjoyed all types of sports and music.
David said to his wife shortly before his death that he enjoyed a good life, loving wife and children, had a great upbringing with a loving mother, father and brother, he traveled the world, had many great jobs, and had no regrets. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the Lansing Chapel.
