Age 77 of Miamisburg passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at his residence after a several years of physical ailment. He was born May 8, 1937 in Miamisburg to the late Cyril and Justine (Belvo) Zink. In addition to his parents, Urbie was preceded by his sister, Joann Mayer. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan (Nohrer) Zink; daughters, Jodi Zink-Stapleton of Miamisburg and Jamie (Paul) Snarski of Waynesville; son-in-law, Willard Stapleton of Moraine and grandchildren, Chase and Chance Stapleton; siblings, Zane, Evodine, Delores, Dale, Carroll, Rolly, Bob and Judy; brother-in-law, Roger Nohrer of Florida and many wonderful nieces and nephews, as well as other extended family and friends. Urbie worked in the family business, Zink Meats as a young man. With desire to move out of the beef industry, Urbie began his own backhoe business which was short lived due to a serious automotive accident that put a hold on his life for about 2 years. After recovering, Urbie was employed by Belvo Builders before operating heavy equipment for Ronnie Weidel. Urbie’s entrepreneurship again got the best of him as he soon established Zink Construction as a contractor that specialized in pouring concrete, remodeling and new home construction. Before retirement in 2008, Urbie finally seemed to find his niche in chimney repair. Urbie was a kind and helpful man who enjoyed building birdhouses, artistic creations of copper, gardening, pickling and working outdoors. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Highland Memorial Cemetery, Miamisburg will serve as Urbie’s final resting place.
