Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Baker passed away peacefully July 1, 2014 at the age of 87. Elizabeth was born to Beatrice Angeline Fox and Harry Avey on March 19, 1927 in Walled Lake. Michigan. She was the second of four siblings, Herbert, Harriette and James. She played the flute in her High School Band. Elizabeth attained her BA from Hillsdale college and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She met her husband, Edward Robert Baker through mutual friends and they married on June 23, 1950. Together Elizabeth and Edward raised four children and passed on to them their love of camping, swimming, traveling, snorkeling and sailing. Upon retirement they moved to Key Largo and later resided in Melbourne and Jacksonville, FL. Elizabeth was an excellent seamstress, avid crossword solver and accomplished painter. She enjoyed playing in the Geneva Presbyterian church Hand Bell Choir in St. Johns County where she went to church. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of 64 yrs, Edward, and her children, Douglas (Corrine), Bruce (Chris) Scott (Shelly) and Susan (Frank); 5 grandchildren, Krissy (Edward), Ryan, Elyse, Sara, Jenna and great-grandson, Edward Jr. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Visitation with family and friend will be 1 hour prior to the service at 10 am.
