James Leonard Brewer, or “JL”, to his family, went to meet the Grand Architect of the Universe on July 1st, 2014. J.L. was born in Hydro, Oklahoma on September 9, 1934 to his parents, Walter Brewer and Margaret Snell who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Paula Brewer.J.L. is survived by his son, Jody Brewer and his wife Dottie, Grandsons: Corey Williams and David Brewer, Great Granddaughter: Jessica Williams. Sisters: Faith and husband, Ray Kiser, Joyce and husband, Carl Clay, Brenda and husband, Dennis Lile, and Brother, Larry Snell. Nieces: Ona, Linda, Mandy and Dusty, Nephews: Steve, Dennis, David, Andrew and numerous Great Nieces and Nephews. In 1951, J.L. entered into the United States Air Force and retired in San Antonio, Texas in 1971 with the rank of E-7 Master Sergeant. On December 12th 1980, J.L. Graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Education and taught Hospitality Management at St. Phillips College. JL was a proud Mason and belonged to the Oregon Military Lodge #223 AF&AM. J.L. joined the fraternity in 1965. One of his greatest moments was to see his grandson David, Follow in his footsteps and become a Master Mason as well. Visitation will be held 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday July 8, 2014h with Graveside services to be held at 11:00am Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
