Howard lived on the land that had been in his family for generations. The same land on which he was given life was later proudly tilled and farmed by him, giving life to plants and vegetables. He was a proud lifelong member of the Lowell Community.
Howard served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European theater. He received a Purple Heart and was awarded three Bronze Stars for campaigns in Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland.
In addition to being a member of the American Legion Post 274 in Cave Springs, he was a 32nd-degree Master Mason, Springdale Lodge 316 Free and Accepted Masons. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Lowell, a contributor and member of the J.B. Hunt Senior Activity Center, and was instrumental in the formation of the Fayetteville Farmer’s Market.
Survivors include his daughters, Linnie Gramling of Springdale, Shannon Kendrick of Rogers; sisters, Mildred Miller of Elm Springs, Reba Gentry of Republic, Mo.; grandchildren, Eric Gramling and Brittany Kendrick; and great-grandchildren. Sam and Ava.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dean Williamson; and the love of his life, Betty Williamson.
