Charles L. “Roy” Bowman 68 passed away on Monday July 7, 2014 at the Hospice Home in High Point. He was born in High Point to the late Isaac Gray and Pauline McGee Bowman. Charles was a 1964 graduate of Ragsdale High School. Charles was a US Army veteran, serving a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1965-1966. Following his Army service, Charles owned and operated Charles L Bowman Grading in High Point from 1970 until his retirement.
In February, 1966, Charles married the former Lynn Johnson of High Point, who survives of the home. He is also survived by his two sons, Charles “Beau” Bowman II and wife Cherie of Kernersville, Edward Bruce Bowman and wife Stephaine of Winston-Salem, a brother Roland Bowman and wife Jill of Jamestown, three grandchildren, Noah and Lucas Bowman, McCoy Garner, and two nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kathleen Rice and her staff, Dr. V. Harish and his staff, Hospice Home of High Point, as well as those at the High Point Regional Cancer Center for their care and compassion.
Graveside Services will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014, 1:00pm at Floral Gardens Memorial Park with full Military Honors. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 6-8pm at Sechrest Funeral Services in High Point.
