Affectionately known as "Nick" to all who loved him, he was born in Corona, Queens, to his parents, Ralph and Clara D’Alessio. Nick was raised in Queens, New York.
Nick played alto saxophone in the Phil D’Alessio Band in the 1940’s with his brother’s Phil, Ralph and Ernie.
Nick served honorably in the United States Navy during the final months of World War II.
He married Anna Mary DiVerniero in 1951, and made their first home in East Massapequa, New York in 1964.
Nick found his life's passion in custom designing architectural renditions, working in the home renovation industry. He worked as a construction contractor until his retirement in 2004. He truly enjoyed golfing, music - as an exceptional saxophonist, and playing competitive card games.
Surviving are his children - Carol and Thomas Trezza, Nicholas and Joanne D’Alessio, Ralph and Laura D’Alessio, Richard and Kimberly D’Alessio; his grandchildren - Nicholas and Lydia D’Alessio, Dana D’Alessio, Kristine and Joshua Griffett, Danielle D’Alessio, Chelsea D’Alessio, Michelle D’Alessio, Lisa D’Alessio, Amanda and Timothy Jones, Christopher Diuguid; and his great grandchildren - Amanda D’Alessio, Alexa D’Alessio, Arianna D’Alessio, Johnny Quinane, Hayden Jones, and Ty Jones. Predeceasing him is his wife, Anna D’Alessio; and his brothers, Philip and Ernest D’Alessio.
