Herbert “Pete” Woosley, 88, of Van Buren, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at his home. He was born August 5, 1925 in West Virginia. He was a retired welder with Whirlpool, and a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Alma. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired after 22 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Woosley of the home; two daughters, Shirley Baxter and husband Phillip of Alma, and Becky Cox and husband Jimmy of Fort Smith; four sons, Doug Woosley and wife Nancy of Barling, Mike Woosley and wife Lavonda of Fort Smith, Martin Woosley and wife Janet of Ohio, and Bob Hammons and wife Sharon of Van Buren; and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Family-hosted memorial will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Alma. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
