Ethel Alene Poe Stone, was born January 10, 1922 in Appleton, Arkansas and went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 31, 2014 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 92. She was predeceased by the love of her life, husband, Henry Doyle Stone, Sr., parents, Morris Lee Poe and Jessie Maxey Poe, sister and brother-in-law Billie Ruth Poe Bridges and Charles William Bridges III and brother-in-law James L. Cherry. She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Poe Cherry, daughter Phyllis Dianne Stone Clark, son “Rocky” Henry Doyle Stone, Jr. and Darci Lenhard, grandchildren Brad D. Clark and wife Paola, Michael Stone and Dawn, Alissa K. Stone Norris and husband Kyle and Jessica D. Clark Milby and husband Jason, great grandchildren Abby Rose Clark, Rhianna Stone, Makaela Stone, Dakota Jung, Charlotte Lowery, Kaden Norris and many beloved nieces and nephews. Alene grew up in Winnsboro, Texas graduating from Winnsboro High School. After graduation she moved to Dallas, Texas and completed business school. Her first job was with Allis-Chalmers and she eventually retired from the position of Administrative Assistant for Texas Nurses Association: District 4. On March 25th, 1949 she married Henry Doyle Stone. Alene was an active member in the Women of the Church at Sunset Presbyterian in Dallas; she was awarded a lifetime membership in the Texas PTA and was a member of the Las Amigas Book Club. Alene had a servant’s heart; she loved the Lord and her family. She will be greatly missed. We know she has been fully restored and is now dancing on the heavenly streets. We look forward to seeing her again!
