Marshall was born on November 19, 1915 in Laredo, Texas to Marcus Pinkney and Marguerite Mae (Overstreet) Scott. Marshall was 98 years old and was a resident of the Palisade and Grand Junction area for over 65 years. Marshall spent his childhood in Laredo, Texas, and graduated from high school in Mirando City, Texas. Marshall enjoyed amateur radio (KØRES), astronomy, photography, geology, reading and music. Marshall’s profession was a land surveyor and a map draftsman for the U.S. Government.
Marshall is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bertie Belle (Pullin) Scott, and daughter, Laura Bracken. Marshall is survived by two children: a son, Marshall Morris Scott, Jr. of Parker, Colorado and a daughter, Lorraine Gilas of Thornton, Colorado. Mr. Scott also leaves behind eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren to cherish his memories.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 2:00pm at Martin Mortuary, followed by a graveside service at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
