Lee was born in Buffalo, NY on April 11, 1927 to parents William and Teresa Cady. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in WWII where he held the rank of Sargent in Occupied Germany at the age of 19. After his war service he worked 5 years for DC Guardian Service and part time for National Catholic Radio while continuing his studies for an accounting degree. Lee was hired by Goodyear Tire and Rubber- Buffalo in 1952 and retired in 1989 after 37 years spanning service in several divisions and US locations. Lee was an active member of the Palmyra United Methodist Church for 36 years and also a member of the Ravenna VFW Post 1055. He enjoyed golf, bowling, 4H, Scouting and managing Babe Ruth baseball. He also loved being with his large family and the vacations spent with them to New England, Washington DC, NYC, etc. which included the older grandkids as well.
Lee also spoke of the blessing and promise kept to him at age 2 and Grandma Mamie Cady by the late Father Baker (Our Lady of Victory)
Lee is survived by his children Brian (Kathleen) Cady, Barbara (Greg) Yoerg, Ken (Liz) Cady, Karen (Guy) Strang, Heather (William) Lambert and Brett (Jessica Gundlach) Cady. Surviving also is his brother Ron (Sharon) Pinney, his sister Jean Pinney Lang, and his 14 loving grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Lee was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Connie, his son Ron Cady, grandson Steve Cady and his sister Lois Pinney Wright.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at 11:00AM on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Palmyra United Methodist Church, 3968 St. Rt. 225, Diamond, Ohio with Pastor Don Booth officiating. Inurnment will take place at Palmyra West Cemetery at a later date.
