Kevin grew up in Louisana and in 1990 he graduated from Caldwell Parish High School. At 18 years old just after high school he enlisted into the US Navy. He completed his training in Great Lakes, IL. He served 4 years and spent time in Desert Storm and on the USSR. A few of the decorations he received included the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
Kevin graduated from DeVry in 2002 with his Bachelor’s Degree and he made the dean’s list. Between 1999-2000 he moved to Grand Prairie, Texas. While working for Boeing in Irving, Texas he met Nkechi Iloka. They started dating and June 30, 2001 they were married. Kevin was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Louisiana growing up and was training as a part of the youth ministry. He was a member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, a Chartered Organization representative and adult leader for Boy Scouts of America and coach for his son’s basketball and soccer team.
Kevin enjoyed playing basketball, going 4-wheeling and soulful Blues/Jazz music. He was very thoughtful, laid back and composed but could be a bit of a know-it-all. A self-proclaimed expert at BBQ-ing, he loved being active with his family. During family functions he enjoyed being the un-designated photographer.
He is survived by his wife, Nkechi Harris; sons: Bryce Harris and Gabryle Harris; brother Jimmy Ray Harris and wife, Jerris; half-sisters: Adrian Bilbro and Dr. Cameron Body; sibling-in-laws: Ebele Bryan, Obi Iloka, Ngozi Iloka, Uche Iloka; parents: Earnestine Bilbro and husband, Thomas and Ray Junior Harris; parent-in-laws: Julia Iloka and James Iloka; nieces/nephews: Jasmine Harris, Kamaya Harris, Jaylin Harris, Alex Iloka, Julia Iloka, Elizabeth Iloka and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
