He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. Earl was drafted into the US Army in 1943 and served 3 years including fighting in World War II.
He was honorably discharged. During his tour in Normandy, he was honored with a European African Middle Eastern Service medal, a good conduct medal
as well as the World War II victory medal. He became a member of the American Legion Chapter 10 in Florida.
After his military service, he resided in New York City. He worked as a chef at Joe Louis' restaurant. He then worked as a token booth collector,
drove a trolley and bus. Finally, worked as a motorman driving a train for the MTA. He retired after 35 years of service.
Earl was introduced to Janet by a friend at a dance. During courtship, they fell in love and married on June 29, 1947. Three children were born from this union.
Son Steven and daughters Barbara and Cheryl. He was a hard working earnest provider and always made sure his family was taken care of and had everything they needed. He was a gentle giant and loved by neighbors and friends.
Earl and Janet retired to Poinciana, became members of Poinciana Christian Church and attended regularly until their health prevented them from doing so.
Earl is predeceased by his wife Janet, his parents and siblings Thelma and Evelyn. Earl is survived by his son Steven and his wife Joann, daughter Barbara
and her husband Sherwood, daughter Cheryl and her companion Calvin, brother in law, Robert and his wife Liz. Grandchildren; Ebonie, Lakus, Nicole, Ian,
Darien, Tracy, Gerard and Gabriel. Great-grandchildren; James, Ryan, Tamaya, Scarlett, Naomi and a host of relatives and friends. He is loved and will be missed.
