Charles Glenn Mizell passed away on October 4, 2017 at his home after a brief illness. Charlie was born in Tallahassee, FL in 1939 but was a true Atlantan from his early teenage years. He graduated from Murphy High School and went on to get his Degree from Georgia State University. In 1966, he married his life partner, Joy Woodard. Together they built a successful printing business in Decatur where Charlie was a supporter of many community projects. He was an avid golfer and played many courses in his travels including Pebble Beach, which he felt was not up to par. He was also known by his friends for his great navigation skills and stories of landmarks along the way. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Joy, sister Sally O’Kelley, nieces Kerry Manning, Cayce Davis (Greg) and nephew George O’Kelley (Terri). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m. at H. M. Patterson and Son Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Brookhaven 30319. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Charlie’s name to Visiting Nurse (Hospice Atlanta) 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, GA 30319 or to a charity of your choice.
