Joyce Lynn Watson, 60, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2017. She was born on April 22, 1957 to Garland Durwood and Mildred Josephine (Gipson) Wooten in Greenville, TX. Joyce was known for doing things “her way” and had a tremendous love for all of her family, she was the glue that held all of them together. Joyce was saved in 1964 and in 2010 became a very active member at First Baptist Church of Meadowview. She loved to cross-stitch, read books by Danielle Steele, shop on QVC and would never turn away any stray that wandered by her home, cat or dog, she would always care for them and feed them. Affectionately known as “Nana” by her grandchildren, her family was her greatest pleasure in her life. Preceding her in death are her parents, Garland and Mildred Wooten and sister, Linda Kaye Wooten. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 25 years Randy Watson, Sr. of Garland; children: Amanda Brown and husband, John Lallande, Dennis Benson and wife, Jessica Land, Pamela Watson and husband, Clint McCormick and Randy Watson, Jr. and wife, Attalee, all of the Dallas area; grandchildren: Britnee Brown, Aidan Brown, Cameron Benson, Hunter Benson, Jake Benson, Hailee Benson, Brianna Oviedo, Saedie Lallande (on the way), Evelyn McCormick, Madeleine McCormick and Lillian McCormick; siblings: Patsy Cousins of Lake Tawakoni, Tommy Jackson and wife, Myrna of Taylorsville, UT, Harold Jackson and wife, Marie of Combine, Don Wooten and wife, Marilyn of Celeste and Dwight Wooten and wife, Amy of Dallas; a host of extended family members and friends that will miss her dearly. Family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville, TX. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Meadowview in Mesquite, TX (a one hour visitation will be held prior to the service). Interment will follow the service at Rains Hall Cemetery in Combine, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s honor to the Missionary Projects at First Baptist Church of Meadowview in Mesquite.
