Delbert Roy Nash of Dunwoody, GA died peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2017 surrounded by family. Del was born on February 14, 1922 in Lowell, MA, son of the late Roy and Anna (Drury) Nash. He attended school in Tewksbury, MA. Like many of his generation, he joined the war efforts during WWII and served in the Pacific Theater with the US Marine Corps. He was a decorated bomber pilot. Following his return home, he married Jane Hardee from Greenville, NC. He then completed his education at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME where he studied economics. He spent his career in the industrial chemical business and retired from Pennwalt Corporation as Regional Sales Manager. He was a longtime member of Kingswood United Methodist Church. Del was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Jane Hardee Nash, and his brothers Robert and Phillip Nash. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Cheryl Nash of West Chester, PA; daughter and son-in-law, Judith and John Smith of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Lindsay Nash (Devin Slack), Kendall Nash and Mark Smith. He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Fullerton of Williston, VT, and numerous nieces and nephews. Known for his kind spirit and optimism, Del always had a quick smile and encouraging word for his many friends, neighbors and family. He was man of honor and high standards, serving as an inspiration to all. The memorial service will be on Saturday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Kingswood United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Nash will be taken to S. G. Wilkerson & Sons in Greenville, NC for burial on Tuesday, November 14 at 2:00 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery. There will be a family visitation at 1:00 p.m. at Wilkerson & Sons.
