Memorial services will be held from 2:00-5:00 pm on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Tebbetts Community Center in Tebbetts.
Gladys was born September 22, 1942 in Callaway County to Coy and Gladys Berniece Jones Miller who preceded her in death. She was married to David Connor on June 5, 1971 in Perryville, Missouri and he preceded her in death.
Gladys attended Fulton High School before graduating from New Bloomfield High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics and Education from North East Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, Missouri and then obtained her Master’s degree in Counseling from William Woods University in Fulton.
She taught school in Iowa and Perryville, Missouri before moving back to Callaway County to raise her children. She then worked as a substitute teacher and at the Well Baby Clinics in Fulton and Holts Summit. She also served as an election judge and room mother for P.T.O. and volunteered for hospice.
Gladys had been a member of Freedom Christian Church in New Bloomfield and she was on the board and served as the Secretary of the Middle River Cemetery Association.
She is survived by one daughter, Carrie (Tom) Holste of Chicago, Illinois; two sons, Evan Connor and his girlfriend, Melanie of Jefferson City and Robert (Bev) Connor of Taos, Missouri; two brothers, Paul Leroy (Linda) Miller of Arkansas and Dale (Tricia) Miller of Texas; five grandchildren, Evanna (Josh Swart) Waller, Rosalia Connor, Isaac Watson, Annabella Connor and India Watson and one great-granddaughter, Dani Waller.
She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Dolly Marie Miller and her grandson, Alexander Connor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Middle River Cemetery Association in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, Missouri 65251.
