Darleen (Adamson) Redmon 92 was born in Louisville KY on April 16, 1925. She passed away on Jan 3, 2018. Her children were at her side in Sugar Hill, GA where she had been with her daughter & son in- law Glenda and Jim Grant. Darleen was married to Rev. Edward Redmon for 69 years at the time of his death in 2016. They resided in Hurstborne and a couple years at Treyton Oak Towers. They had three children; Daughters: Nelda Hunt (Paul) of Lincoln, Nebraska, Glenda Grant (Jim) of Sugar Hill, Georgia, and Son, Eddie Redmon (deceased) and his wife, Margaret of Franklin, Tennessee. They had 8 grandchildren, Amy Birkholz (Paul), Natalie Tysdal (Tyler), Molly Parks (Ben), Jamie Hunt (Tasha), Laura Corder (Clinton), Keith Redmon (Kristi), Troy Grant (Christy), Tiffany Grant, and 15 great grandchildren. She was one of 7 children , survived by 2 brothers Hulan Adamson, David Adamson and sister, Mary Clark. She is predeceased by siblings, Aileen Bryant, Buford Adamson and Jim Adamson.
Darleen was loved by everyone who knew her and was known for her beautiful smile and gentle spirit. She was a lady of many talents, very creative and was an excellent seamstress making entire wedding party dresses including bridal gowns. She spent many years making doll clothes and little girl matching outfits. She worked in Dr. Little’s office, and later retired from Cissell.
She was a wonderful supportive pastor’s wife and was known for her delicious cakes. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren adored their Granny. She will be missed by her family and those who knew and admired this beautiful lady.
A life celebration will be held on Tuesday, January 9th at 2:00 pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from noon until service time.
