Dr. Pascual B. Herrera, age 102, of Acworth, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018. Funeral service is Saturday, January 20, at 3pm from the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw with Pastor George Rodriquez officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pine Ridge Memorial Park also located in Kennesaw. The family is receiving friends at the funeral home on the service day beginning at 1pm until the funeral hour.
Dr. Herrera was a Surgeon for over half a century. He was a beloved Physician in Cobb County for over thirty of those years. He worked in the Wellstar Health System as a general Surgeon, and ran a private practice on Cherokee Street in Marietta. Not only was he a Doctor, but he was a teacher as well. Dr. Herrera had the incredible gift to teach life lessons to his friends and family with his compelling stories. He carefully crafted lessons and stories to inspire and motivate patients, colleagues, friends, and family to pursue their personal best.
A man of great faith, Dr. Herrera attended First Baptist of Smyrna and Primera Iglesia Bautista Churches. He was born in Cuba and cherished his heritage. He was very active in the Spanish Ministries to encourage others to seek Christ. Dr. Herrera was the Founder & Director of the Baptist Hospital in Havana, Cuba.
Dr. Pascual B. Herrera is survived by his daughter, Coppelia and husband Kevin Kranick of Acworth; son, Dr. Pascual and wife Debra Herrera of Gadsden, Alabama; brother, Paco Herrera of Florida; sisters, Estefana Herrera and Josephine Perea both of Florida; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and dear, dear friends.
