Allan was born on June 9, 1917 in East Hartford to Allan Rhodes Sr. and Sybella Fletcher.
He proudly served as S/SGT Co C 390 Reg 98th Div. Pacific Theater in WWII. He retired from Pratt and Whitney after 40yrs of service as an overhaul mechanic. He was an East Hartford graduate and a member of the United First Church of East Hartford. He loved going to PA to see the cabin, family and friends. He enjoyed sitting in the sun, eating ice cream or anything sweet and daily trips to the Triple AAA diner. He was a kind and loveable man who often told everyone to behave themselves.
He was predeceased by his wife Vera Rhodes, son Hugh Rhodes and daughter Rhondda Rhodes.
He is survived by his daughter Enid Guiffre of Indiana. He also leaves behind his granddaughters Rachel Conklin of Windsor and Dawn Meyer of Washington DC, A grandson Mark Guiffre of Indiana and a great grandson Dayton Riley, Also nieces, nephews and many friends.
There will be no calling hours and a private burial at the convenience of family. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Allan’s name at the CT department of Veteran’s Affair in Rocky hill CT.
