Darrell, 70, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 in Vietnam, where he was touring during the 50th anniversary of the TET offensive.
Born October 26, 1947 Darrell was the son of the late Hugh and Ruby Punch Killian.
After graduating from St. Stephens High School, he served in the army with active duty in Vietnam 1968-69. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals. After his service with the army, he worked for General Electric until he retired in 1997. He then worked part-time for K & M Tire until his final retirement in October 2017.
Darrell attended Miller’s Lutheran Church and was a member of the former Fairgrove United Methodist church.
Darrell’s interests were traveling and Ford Mustangs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Michael Burns.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Huffman Killian; daughter, Tammy Killian Burns; grandson, Dylan Burns; step-sons Jeff Hawn and wife, Lisa; Phillip Hawn (Becky Loranger); step-grandchildren, Dustin, Amelia and Ella Hawn.
Private graveside services with military rites will be held at a future date.
Memorials may be made to the General Fund of Miller’s Lutheran Church.
The Killian Family is under the care of Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations.
