Edith Ragonese entered heaven peacefully on February 16, 2018. Known adoringly as Mum, and Grandmum. Edie's positive, loving, and humerous spirit lives on with all of us. She joins Sal, her beloved husband (of 56 years) and best buddy, in heaven. Edith and her son, Jody, had a cherished and close relationship. Edie was blessed with two darling grand-daughters, Isabella and Juliana, and a wonderful daughter-in law, Laura. Born in NY City on November 16, 1931, Edith grew up in Brooklyn with various foster families. Special thanks to the Kandell family who made a positive impact on her life. Edie loved and admired her three Brothers, Phil, Bill, and Mel, her inlaws, and all of their families. Edith lived in various places including Venice, CA, Millburn, NJ, and moved closer to her family in Clinton, CT.
She had a wonderful voice and sang for the troops and audiences in Long Island, Wyoming, and Florida. Her cooking talents were showcased during a family house fire. The firemen saved Mum's garlic roast beef, because they smelled the spices. Her passion for drawing and writing included sketches of clowns and colorful love notes to her husband. She loved being a mentor to many young adults throughout her life.
Thanks to Edie's amazing DNA, her loving family, friends, neighbors, and Angel Caregivers Team, our Momma Edith lived a very happy life. She achieved her major goal to live at home for her entire adult life. All are welcome to join Edie's Visiting hours on Friday, 2/23 from 5-7, and her funeral on Saturday, 2/24 at 9:30 at Swan Funeral Home at 825 Boston Post Road in Madison, CT. Memorial contributions can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. www.lls.org.
