Rolla was born May 28, 1942 in Richmond, Kentucky to the late Lewis and Viola Jackson.
Rolla was a beloved mother and grandmother and a friend to many. She was fun-loving and fiesty, always bringing laughter and joy. She was a huge personality in a tiny person. She loved to tell jokes and simply dance and live in the moment. She appreciated the simplest things in life. She was kind, loving, generous, affectionate and a wealth of information. Mother had the answer for everything. She was our mentor, our friend, our love, our life example. Mother taught us about life, love, and responsibility. She taught us to enjoy life, value family and friends, and go after dreams. She inspired us. Mother was the heart of our entire family…and we were her heart. We were devoted to our Mother/Grandmother as she was to us.
Mother also dedicated herself to service. She believed in serving community. Mother volunteered countless hours for a variety of organizations to include the Miamisburg Merchants Association (MMA), the Miamisburg Historical Society, the Baum Opera House, the City of Miamisburg Parks and Recreation, and the Alter Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Red Hats and served the homeless every Thanksgiving. For many years, she spearheaded the beautiful annual planters throughout the City of Miamisburg. Rolla was also an employee of the Miamisburg Pool, the Baum Opera House and, for the last few years, worked for the Miamisburg Municipal Courts. Rolla was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. She was devoted to the Blessed Mother Mary.
In addition to her parents, Mother was preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Deem and her nephew, Ricky Deem.
Mother is survived by her three daughters, Vilena Hutchison and husband, Josh, Tonya Broerman, Angela Lauofo and husband, Faupo; and her six grandchildren, Thomas R. Broerman and wife and son, Rendy and Glenn, Brianna Lauofo, Lupelele Lauofo, Marianna Lauofo, Matthew Lauofo, and Michael Lauofo.
Thank you to Father Ron Combs for attending to Mother at the end of her life journey.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace.
