continued service in the Navy
Reserves. Upon return from the war, George began a 30
year career at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In
1946, he married and had four children.
He was preceded in death by his son Alex, his brothers
Arno, L.C., J.C., and his most beloved Horace.
George is survived by his sister Thelma, his children
John, Laura, and Celeste, his grandchildren Derek,
D a n i e l l e , A a r o n , P a u l , J e s s e , R a c h e l , h i s g r e a t
granddaughter Audrina. and a host of well-loved nieces
a n d n e p h e w s . H e i s s u r v i v e d b y F l o r e n c e M i l l e r ,
unquestionably the love of his life.
A graveside service will be held at East Tennessee
Veterans Cemetery 2200 E. Gov. John Sevier Hwy on
Friday, February 23rd at 9:30 am. Condolences may be
