Anne Long, 74, of Nebo, NC, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Rosehill Retirement Center in Marion.
Mrs. Long was born in Syracuse, NY, on June 6, 1943, to the late Howard Williams and Florence Eloise Franks.
Mrs. Long graduated from Central Technical High School in Syracuse and furthered her education at Potsdam State University, in Potsdam, NY, earning a B.A. in Elementary Education. She was of the Methodist faith and was an elementary school teacher.
Mrs. Long loved teaching children and was a very well respected teacher at AWyalusing Elementary School in Wyalusing, PA. She just loved people and never met a stranger. She enjoyed socializing and cherished her friends deeply. Some of her favorite hobbies include, pastel painting, canoeing, playing cards and scrabble. She also enjoyed traveling, snow skiing and camping.
Mrs. Long and her husband Robert, lived for 30 years Towanda, PA. After she retired, Anne and her husband lived a peaceful life on Lake James, in Nebo, NC. For the past 16 years, she suffered from Parkinson’s Disease.
Surviving Mrs. Long are her husband of 52 years, Robert, of the home and a son, Gregory Long, of Arlington, VA.
Memorialization will be by cremation and a Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Anne Long will be announced at a later date by the family.
