Nanette was born January 17, 1952 in New Iberia to the late Percy J. Comeaux and Gladys Babineaux Comeaux, and was the only daughter of four children. She passed away peacefully Saturday, February 24, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends. She was 66.
Nanette was a 1970 graduate of New Iberia Senior High. She then enrolled in Northeast Louisiana University with her dear friend Jackie Biano, and began her higher education working to become an Educator. Nanette continued her studies and received her Master’s Degree in Education and was also certified in Gifted and Talented education. During her career which spanned to almost four decades, she not only touched the lives of many children, but enriched them as well. Teaching was her passion and she was loved by her students and fellow educators.
Outside of teaching, Nanette had a love for dogs and raised many during her life. She also enjoyed cooking and it was said that she made the best soups around. But it can best be said that above all, Nanette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Her legacy will live on in not only her families’ hearts, but in the hearts and minds of all she taught. Rest well Nanette.
